There was a sudden blackout
It was early afternoon and we were about to cook lunch. I checked on the internet for information and found that about 1000 houses in the area were affected.
It also said that it would be restored in about two hours.
So we decided to eat lunch outside, hoping the cafe we were thinking of had power. We passed the library and the town office and they had lights. The cafe was open and the tables were nearly filled up because it was the weekend. The owner didn’t know about the blackout and he was thankful it didn’t happen in his area. It could affect his business.
We had a nice lunch and by the time we came home, the blackout was over. I don’t know why it happened, it was a warm sunny day.
急に停電になりました
午後の早い時間でお昼ご飯の用意をしようと思った時でした。すぐにインターネットで調べたところ、約１０００世帯で停電とのことでした。
２時間ぐらいで回復する予定とありました。
仕方なく外食することにしました。決めたカフェが停電でないことを祈りながら、車を走らせました。途中図書館と町役場を通り過ぎましたが、電気がついていました。カフェは無事やっていて、週末だったせいかほとんどの席が埋まっていました。カフェのマスターは停電のことを知らなくて、自分のところでなくて良かったと安心していました。停電になったら料理できませんからね。
美味しいランチを食べて家に帰ると停電は終わっていました。風のない暖かい日だったので、どうして停電になったのか不思議でした。
