I checked for bullet train discounts
If I make a train reservation one month in advance, I can get about a 30% discount, but sometimes we have to change travel plans at the last minute so I checked a bit more.
If I join the “Jipangu club” by myself, I can get only a 5% discount. As my husband is over 65, we can join a “couple plan” and have a 20 to 30% discount. If we go to Tokyo even twice, that will save more than the annual Jipangu club fee.
We have more travel choices now: car, plane or train.

新感線を１ヶ月前に予約をすると30％オフになるというものがあり、それを利用しようと思いましたが、予定の変更もあるので少し割引率が少なくなっても良いからともっと探してみました。
ジパングクラブに私が個人で申し込むと5％だけど、夫が65歳以上なので夫婦会員になると20％から30％割引になるというものがありました。計算したところ、東京に年に1.5回2人で行くだけで年会費のもとが取れることがわかりました。
会員になったら、沖縄を除く国内は新幹線と飛行機とどちらが安いか計算して旅行に行く事になりそうです。
